People are always looking to the “Secret” to success, that “Magic Pill” that will transform you into something great! The success you want can be anything; losing weight, growing your business, being a great partner or parent, anything. So, where is that “Magic Key” where do you find it and why is it being hidden from you? They say the greatest place to hide something is right under a person’s nose and that is exactly where the key to your success is. The key to your success, all your success is already inside of you. Every resource and skill you need to be successful; confidence, discipline, hard work and all the others, you are already using in some area of your life, you may not even be aware of it. Once you become aware of those skills in your mind, you can move them over to the other areas of your life to accomplish all you dreams.

Here is an example: I had a client once in her late forties. She came to me because she claimed that all her life she had no confidence or self-esteem. She had been telling herself this all her life. I noticed that when she was telling me her story of despair, she was sitting tall and erect, she was projecting her voice with power and force and her body language was very commanding. She was telling how little confidence she had, very confidently. I told her that and she didn’t want to believe me and she became even more forceful and more sure of her story of no confidence. I had her freeze and look at her body language, her voice and her words. It was the first time in her life that she made the connection to herself, that she really did have self confidence. Once she made that connection all she needed to do was move confidence she had in telling her story to the other areas of her life. She was able to do that and she is now a very successful salesperson and has taken back her power in all the areas of her life.

So how do you capture your powerful success skills you already have and apply them to the other areas of your life? The exercise below will show you how to do that.

Homework Exercise

“Circle of Power”

Close your eyes and remember at time in your life when you were successful doing something (it could be anything) or something that you know you do really well. Now explore it: see the things you see while doing it, hear the things you hear while doing it and feel the things you feel while doing.

Now imagine a circle on the floor in front of you big enough so you can step in it.

Take all the skills, resources and feelings you are experiencing doing this thing you do well (successfully) and take all those things and put them into that circle. You will notice that the circle will change color and you will begin to feel its powerful energy of your success traits coming from it.

Now step into the circle and feel all of your success from that thing you do well. See that way again, hear that way again and feel that way again. You will notice how different you feel. Standing taller, more focused in thought and confident in your ability.

Every time you need your success, power, strength and confidence…Close your eyes imagine that circle in front of you again, it beautiful color and powerful energy and then step into it. You will feel that way again and experience your success….Because….You are Amazing!!!

By Cam Lemmon on April 1, 2013 in Blog, Building Business, Business, Business Growth, Business Spotlight, Camryn Lemmon, business and PR counselor, Oliver Consulting Group, Author of Mentors Digest “Overcoming Obstacles,” public speaker and author.

On Thursday, March 28, 2013, I had the distinct honor of interviewing an inspiring man on his business, his background, and his reasons for changing careers a decade ago. But, as my show title states: “Got Lemons?…” I had lemons on Friday morning when I began the production process of the pre-recorded program. I was discouraged and felt that I had failed, when in reality, it was a computer glitch on the side of the company I use for my pre-recordings. The call registered, showed in my list of tapings, the exact time the call lasted, but there was no accompanying MP3 to upload for my show.

I e-mailed every way I had, after first calling the guest to let him know what had happened. This man is extremely busy, thus his great success in his business and all that follows. After attempting to reach my scheduled guest with no luck, I went on the air. I thought this would help, but I believe my voice portrayed my dismay and I did not do the justice my guest deserved. But, here is my playback in my memory of what caught my attention about this man, and why he has been on my list for quite a while as a great guest!

CARL BRICKMAN is Founder and Creative Director at Promo Web® Innovations, Inc. Based in Tampa, Carl began this venture after the misdiagnosis of his father a decade ago. After his father’s death, he changed careers to create a company with the goal of providing excellent job placements for the best doctors and hospital staff as any major medical center in the country – for any city. Carl’s company, Promo Web®, is the exclusive producer and distributor of Online Job Tour® awarded a US-patented premier recruiting tool that empowers in-house hospital and physician recruiting by providing jobseekers with a “virtual interview visit experience” to the hospital/employer and its service area in 2012. His story is so compelling and based on an ethical and spiritual foundation.

Put yourself in the place of a medical doctor looking to move to a new area. This is an expensive, limited real interview trip, which hosts very few, and must be made quickly. The old way of interviewing cannot cover 5% of the content of Online Job Tour. Job Tour® are comprehensive productions which can exceed 250 web pages, 4,000 original photos and 70 videos taken during an on-site production visit. This can total more than 5 hours of video content, that educates and compels today’s web savvy jobseekers.

Hospitals benefit in a variety of ways: reduce time-to-fill jobs by 50% and achieve significant retention improvement, attract higher caliber talent, improve their closing percentage of visiting candidates and limit wasted real interviews. Fewer incentives are needed to sign new physicians and employees, and clients see a reduction in the need to use expensive third party recruiters.
Carl said their mission statement is quite simple: to help smart organizations beat their competition while improving and streamlining their recruiting in today’s digital age.

While in his previous career, Carl made his first $1M by the ripe young age of 29 years old. Money is not his primary motive. Mr. Brickman is great in every aspect of his business. He also has a beautiful family including two sons.

Carl Brickman is a man I have wanted to interview on my Show, “Got Lemons? Make Business Lemmon-Aide,” for months and I was dismayed, to say the least, that there had a been a recording problem. Having said that, I invite Carl to come back on at some point in the near future and let us get an update on what is happening within this new patented process.

The company’s latest production release was on February 21, 2012 so take a look at: www.mshajobtour.com/jcmc. Other ways to contact Carl Brickman are below. Stayed tuned for our next show on Friday at 2 P.M.

It was a pleasure and a great interview that I had with Carl on Thursday, last week, and I know the next time you will hear Carl’s interview!

The Schaumburg Community Hub is an Internet website designed to share news, information and events that professionals can use to grow their organization, engage in community dialogue and create long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between business, nonprofit, public service agencies and education sectors.

The first Community Hub site, http://schaumburg.linkedlocalnetwork.com, will allow members of any sector to participate as content providers, engage in skills-based consulting or become sponsors. Each site will benefit from the large social media network that the Linked Local Network and HandsOn Suburban Network have been developing over the last three years.

At the preview, there will be a short presentation on how organizations can get involved and a panel with members of business, nonprofit and education sectors who will address questions. There will also be a virtual ribbon cutting.

Chris Smith, COO of HandsOn Suburban Chicago explains, “We are very excited to be based at Roosevelt’s Heller School of Business Incubator Space, partner with LLN and launch our first social enterprise designed to put a brighter spotlight on community engagement and leverage social media platforms to increase collaboration between the education, public, nonprofit and business sectors.“

Each Community Hub, beginning with Schaumburg, will provide businesses with opportunities to highlight employee expertise and business services, which will benefit the community.

”The Community Hub model offers many benefits to all sectors,” said Fred McMurray, founder of LLN. “This initiative provides a win/win situation and no matter how participants choose to engage, efforts will result in increased exposure, a more strategic network of contacts and enhanced presence in the local community, whether business or nonprofit.”

Roosevelt University became involved in December 2012 when Roosevelt’s Walter E. Heller College of Business selected HandsOn Suburban Chicago to join the Incubator Business Program Initiative with the goal of furthering its commitment to entrepreneurship and sustainable business.

“We are so glad to have them as Heller Incubator residents,” said Melissa Stutz, Assistant Dean of the Heller College of Business. “This collaboration is such a great opportunity for Roosevelt students and our community.”

HandsOn Suburban Chicago and Linked Local Network have hosted multiple meetings and recorded multiple Internet radio programs including an interview with two Roosevelt students on the topic of social justice as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. Listen to interview

“This is the ideal marriage of resources and expertise,” said Patty Neuswanger, Director of Community Engagement & Development. “LLN has cultivated an outstanding social media network within multiple sectors and specific geographic areas. HOSC has solid relationships with 200 plus schools, universities and nonprofits. By pooling our resources and networks, we believe everyone can benefit, and by taking a local approach, individual communities can be strengthened.”

This event is free to attend. For more information and to register visit: http://SchaumburgComHubLaunch.eventbrite.com.
For over 40 years, HandsOn Suburban Chicago (HOSC) has been inspiring, equipping and mobilizing people to volunteer and take action that builds vibrant and prosperous communities. HOSC recruits and refers 9,000 volunteers annually to over 200 member agency nonprofits and schools, and provides other support to local charitable organizations, such as consultations and trainings. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency and part of the national HandsOn Network, HOSC’s service area includes 45 core communities in Chicagoland and a population of over 1.6 million residents. LLN was founded in 2010 with a mission to help small businesses and nonprofits better leverage state –of- the- art digital and social media technology to increase revenue and improve member services.

Join Mike Boehler and Marie Lazzara as they interview Melissa Stutz, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies at Roosevelt University and Hiba Dababneh, a Roosevelt University student who is enrolled in the university’s Walter E. Heller College of Business.

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday this week, they will discuss the concept of social justice.

The university’s view of social justice has been based in a belief that fairness, honesty, integrity and impartiality should resonate throughout every institution within a civil society.

The university, over many years, has strengthened this singular dedication to civic and social responsibility, human rights, community partnerships, and public outreach – the kind of learning that transcends the classroom. By reinforcing social consciousness to students and greater community, the university plays a significant role in shaping the world’s next generation of progressive, ethical leaders.

Roosevelt University is an independent, non-profit, metropolitan university with two campuses located in downtown Chicago and suburban Schaumburg, Illinois. The university is also a partner in a Community Hub Project between HandsOn Suburban Chicago and Linked Local Network.

Our founding fathers recognized the importance of having citizen politicians. Citizen politicians defined over 237 years ago as people who participate in the political process, and these people come from all walks of life, such as farmers, businesses, law practices, inn keepers, chimney sweepers and schoolteachers.

These citizen politicians participated in the people’s government result in fresh new realist practical ideas from the communities they live in. These ideas coming from the community bringing reality and cultural inspiration based on real world experiences. These citizen politicians representing the people’s government and after their politicking is done they simply travel home to their citizens lives once again.

What is deeply saddening is the evolutionary process of the professional politician, who’s only goal in life is to stay in that elected seat full-time and forever. Without ever relinquishing this position resulting in stagnant ideas, with no possible sense of connection to the real people that elected them. In addition, a lack of connection to any sense of reality at all, these professional politicians are more closely aligned to an elitist mindset nowhere grounded to the community they are supposed to represent.

Political elitists have no direct correlation to the citizens that they represent, in most cases these professional politicians are not even from the same state. The only reason that these professional politicians are there, is because a great deal of money is now made for being a professional politician. Our founding fathers never intended to make citizens full-time politicians, or they would have written term-limits into the constitution for all elected officials from dogcatcher to the president.

Instead, what we have today a professional politician with no real connection back to the community that they represent, and what happens is “we the people” cease to exist.” “We the people” today are no longer the foundation for this government, and we the people have become merely three words in the English language.
